Kitchen Cabinet Painting

When the cabinet layout still works, a finish update can give a kitchen a different feel. Cabinet painting needs more than wall paint on doors: the existing finish, grease, door material, profiles and daily handling all affect the result. We assess suitability before recommending a scope.

Preparation with a purpose.

01 /

Confirm suitability

Review door and box material, earlier finishes, damage and adhesion. Swollen fibreboard, lifting laminate and worn hinges may need repair or replacement rather than paint alone.

02 /

Set the boundaries

List doors, drawer fronts, face frames, end panels and any interiors separately. Agree on hardware handling and how the kitchen can be used during the work.

03 /

Clean and build adhesion

Remove grease and residue, prepare sound existing finishes and remove dust. Select a primer and cabinet coating compatible with the actual material.

04 /

Finish and allow curing

Confirm the application method and expected texture before work. Follow product-specific recoat and handling requirements, then provide guidance for careful use while the finish cures.

Questions about cabinets.

Can you paint laminate or damaged cabinets?

Suitability needs assessment. A sound laminate surface and a damaged or lifting one are different problems; material compatibility and repair needs are reviewed before we offer a coating scope.

Do you spray cabinets?

The application method is agreed after assessment. This service does not promise spraying or off-site finishing. Ask about the method, expected texture and sample expectations when discussing your cabinets.

Are the insides of cabinets included?

Only if they are listed in the quote. Door backs, interiors, shelves, frames and exposed end panels should be specified separately to avoid an incomplete comparison.

Can the kitchen be used immediately afterwards?

Dry to the touch and fully cured are different stages. Reassembly, cleaning and normal use depend on the chosen coating; we discuss access during the project and care at handover.
